The beach isn’t anything spectacular but the nightlife is awesome and Pattaya is a great place for people who like to party. The Koh Samet is a small island just 3 hours from Bangkok. It has a variety of different people. Expatriates and tourists will love the quietness of relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beaches are white sand and the water is blue and warm. There are terrific restaurants with great food. There is even dancing when the sun goes down.
The Koh Chang is the second largest island; it is located in the Gulf of Siam. The island is mostly thick jungle and national parks; the shoreline is being developed into a resort placed. It is a 6 hour drive from Bangkok and a short little boat ride from the province of Trat near Cambodia. If you are looking for a short vacation from your vacation, then Hua Hin is where you want to be. It is just 3 hours drive or a quick flight from Bangkok. It is located on the shores of the Gulf of Siam. Hua Hin’s largest attraction is that it is very close to Bangkok and the great hotels they have there. Hua Hin is also home to one of the Palaces of the King of Thailand.
If you are looking for a place to get away from the city of Bangkok for a day or two and want to experience a different part of Thailand then anyone of the locations will hit the spot. It is like taking a vacation within a vacation.
